A partner since 2008, Subaru has donated close to $14 million to the ASPCA and helped support nearly 1,000 pet adoption events, resulting in more than 11,500 adoptions to date.

Over a decade ago, Subaru became the first U.S. auto manufacturer to become zero-landfill, and now, in collaboration with the National Park Service and the National Parks Conservation Association, Subaru is leveraging that same environmental expertise to help the National Parks reach zero-landfill too.

Subaru delivers blankets to MD Anderson

Subaru of Clear Lake delivered blankets to MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston. Subaru staff gave blankets to patients in the waiting room of the outpatient lymphoma department where they were waiting for their chemotherapy. Patients flocked to the blankets as the waiting rooms are extra cold in the hot Houston summers. One patient mentioned that he has been driving a Subaru since the 1970s and that this blanket delivery reminded him of why he loves Subaru so much.

Michael and Kelley Redmond were the representatives from Subaru of Clear Lake and they delivered the blankets and craft kits to the MD Anderson Cancer Center. The Assistant Nurse Manager Michael was very excited to receive them. He explained they often over-compensate with the air conditioning during our Texas summers, making the waiting rooms very cold.

My name is Kellie. I am blind and have been a guide dog user for 29 years. 3 years ago, Guide Dogs for the Blind expanded their puppy raising territory to Houston. This organization gave me one of the greatest gifts I will ever receive. Lone Star Guide Dog Raisers are volunteers who open their homes and their hearts to train a puppy that they will only have for one year. The love, dedication, and time that these puppy raisers put into shaping these puppies into hard working animals is tremendous and is the greatest gift that the visually impaired could receive. They are the gateway that leads these dogs to a bright future and, in turn, people like me. If it wasn’t for them, I wouldn’t be where I am today. My first dog gave me confidence to get through college. My second dog gave me the courage to travel. My third dog helped me be an active mom - walking my son to and from school and attending after-school activities. My fourth dog gives me the continued independence I’ve enjoyed for 29 years. These puppy raisers put so much time, money, effort, and love into training these dogs, knowing full well that they’re going to give them away to someone who needs independence. I can’t thank them enough for what they do and it warms my heart to know that Subaru of Clear Lake is helping them with their efforts. My heartfelt thanks for choosing Lone Star Guide Dog Raisers Houston as your local charity. Through Subaru’s “Share the Love” campaign we can continue to Harness The Love.

Holiday season rolled into town about the same time our Lone Star Guide Dog Raisers began weekly visits to Subaru of Clear Lake dealership. Perfect timing for our team to participate in Subaru’s holiday celebration of extending their generosity and true commitment to community. The staff welcomed our puppy raising team and accommodated our every need. We had a great location by the customer lounge that allowed our guide dog puppies in training as well as 2 working guide dogs to interact with customers – loyal customers – who were happy and ready to shop. The customer’s loved being able to see and touch a real live puppy in training from one of Subaru’s sponsored charities. Subaru of Clear Lake's dedication to promote the Share the Love campaign in their own community made a real impact on customer’s decisions to purchase a Subaru. We are so grateful to Subaru of Clear Lake for choosing us as your local charity. We enjoyed educating customers about our team's mission and “Sharing the Love” of our pups in training. Subaru of Clear Lake demonstrates what is possible when a group promotes team work in the community by generously giving resources that build trust and lasting relationships. This is perfect example of Subaru’s Love Promise by supporting our team’s mission to raise guide dog puppies so that they can go on to be successful guide dogs that will forever impact someone’s life and their community. I walked into Subaru of Clear Lake (Houston, Texas) and was immediately greeted by Natasha Lazic. She had no idea why I was there, but when I indicated I was very interested in the Outback Limited 2.5L, in blue with ivory leather seats, she took me right to the car I was interested in. We drove it and she told me her story of emigrating to the US from Syria. She was extremely knowledgeable about the car, and answered every question I had (and I had many about the eyesight feature!). She also became a person to me with her story, and made me happy to be an American, as well as improved my knowledge of Subarus. It was a great experience, and she provided good insights into the car. Too often these transactions are not personal. Natasha made it very personable, not personal, and very smooth. I even left and told here I would "be back". Sales people hate "be back"s because they never do. But, I came back with my wife because of her, and bought a fabulous car! Kudo's to Natasha for making my purchase experience fantastic!

Madison's Subaru Adventure

Hi! I am Madison. I am 12 years old and live in Katy, TX. My family takes lots of road trips to visit National Parks around the country. My sister, Morgan and I have completed over 175 Junior Ranger programs at the National Parks or Historical Sites. Last year, my family decided to get a Subaru Outback. Since then, we have taken 4 big road trips. The Outback has greatly enhanced my passenger experience. The seats are comfy and we have so much more room. I also like that we have our own AC vents and seat heaters. My dad talks about how he likes the lane technology and my mom likes that she can play her Pandora in the car. We plan on taking many more road trips, the next one this August, so we can accomplish the goal of visiting every National Park/Historical Site in the United States.
