Subaru Outback Performance

The new Subaru Outback offers one of two different engines, each paired with a Lineartronic® continuously variable automatic transmission (CVT). The standard Outback models feature a 2.5-liter, 182-horsepower Subaru BOXER® horizontally-opposed four-cylinder (H4) engine, providing a towing capacity of 2,700 lbs. The new Outback Onyx Edition models feature a 2.4-liter, 260-horsepower turbocharged H4 engine, which enables the Outback to tow up to 3,500 lbs.

Safety Features

The Subaru Outback helps maintain traction and safety on the streets of League City with Subaru Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive and X-MODE®, both of which come standard on this wagon. As with most other new Subaru models, the Outback also includes standard EyeSight® Driver-Assist Technology, which uses sensors and cameras to monitor your surroundings and prevent accidents. Standard EyeSight® features include Adaptive Cruise Control and Pre-Collision Braking/Throttle Management.

Interior/Tech Features

Pop the trunk of the Subaru Outback and you will find up to 32.5 cubic feet of cargo volume behind the second-row, much more space than many compact crossovers provide. The 60/40 second-row seats fold flat to expand the cargo volume up to 75.7 cubic feet. If you need more room for luggage and bikes, the Outback's standard roof rails feature integrated cross-bars, allowing you to turn the roof into a fully-functioning roof rack which can hold up to 150 lbs. of equipment. Other standard features include the Subaru STARLINK® Multimedia System with standard Apple CarPlay®/Android Auto™ compatibility.

Subaru Outback Trim Level Comparison

The Subaru Outback comes standard with safety, capability, and, of course, all-wheel drive, but some of the features will change as you go up the trim levels. They all share the same cabin specs, but you can find more convenience and finer materials in the higher trim levels. We compare the Subaru Outback trim levels below so that you can see which suits you best.

Subaru Outback Base

The base model is a great value as it has the most affordable starting price while coming with features like Apple CarPlay, a rear-view camera, and EyeSight® Driver-Assist Technologies.

Subaru Outback Premium

While not much of a jump in price, the Subaru Outback Premium carries over the features of the base model while adding a larger touchscreen display for the infotainment system, dual-zone climate control, heated front seats, and a 10-way power-controlled driver's seat.

Subaru Outback Limited

The Limited trim actually covers two levels as there is a Subaru Outback Limited trim with a 260-horsepower engine. Along with that option, this trim adds LED steering-responsive headlights, leather upholstery, a hands-free rear liftgate, and a 12-speaker sound system.

Subaru Outback Touring

Another trim offering both engine options, the Subaru Outback Touring has Nappa leather upholstery, a built-in navigation system, ventilated front seats, a power moonroof, and more driver-assist safety technologies.

Subaru Outback Onyx Edition XT

This model is only available with the more powerful engine, and it has features similar to those in the Limited trims, but it's the design that sets it apart. The Subaru Outback Onyx Edition has black-alloy wheels, Crystal Black-Silica exterior accents, water-repellent upholstery, and more that makes it unique among these options.
